Mark is a seasoned investor and entrepreneur. He began his career as a real estate investment professional in Los Angeles during the 1980s and moved into technology investments. Mark was an investor and earliest member of the board of Skype until it was sold to eBay for $3.1 billion, and subsequently led the negotiations for Joltid to become a major shareholder of Skype post acquisition from eBay in November 2009 and rejoined the Board of Directors until it was sold to Microsoft for $8.5 billion in 2011. Previously, he was the founder and CEO of Sega Ozisoft Pty Ltd. Later through his investment company, he acquired control of the company from Sega Japan and subsequently sold the company to Infogrames France. Mark was the CEO and Chairman of Virgin Interactive after leading the management buyout from Viacom. Mark was also a founder and director of Packard Bell NEC Australia Pty. Ltd. He is currently a member of the board of Atomico, one of Europe’s largest VC firms, as well as RDIO and Chairman of Talon International. MCV called him “The Deal Maker” and published his Ten Rules of Negotiating.
